festforall_modsIf you've signed up, then you should already have read the rules. However, we know memory can fail, so here is a post all about the rules.
Both this and the rules document will be edited to reflect any necessary changes as the fest goes on, and there will be a notice in the next quick check-in of any rule changes.
1. No romance (there can be background romance, but no PDA that you wouldn't see with friendships, and it must be in the background)
2. Keep PDA of any kind minimal (hugging is fine. This mostly refers to kissing, etc)
3. Fic must be more than 5,000 words (if it is not 5k+, you will be included in a segment of the fest called honourary mentions. You can still participate, and will be part of it all)
4. The theme is platonic relationships. You can interpret that any way you want, but we ask that your work has something to do with platonic relationships.
5. Any rating except E (explicit) is fine, as long as the rating is for violence, gore, language, etc. That is, not sex.
6. Any fandom is allowed. This is about creating general fanfiction together, and coming together to do that.
7. Be kind (specifics may be added in the future)
8. Keep any nsfw content in the nsfw chat on discord
9. Keep any potentially triggering content in the tw chat on discord
10. Use everyone's proper name and pronouns
11. Do not use slurs of any kind unless you are an applicable member to reclaim them, and are referring to yourself as that reclaimed slur, and not anybody else
12. if you don't feel safe in any way, please contact a mod via email (festforall.genfic@gmail.com), tumblr message or ask (festforall-genfic.tumblr.com), message the mods on dreamwidth, or message one of the mods on discord (amahami#8913)
13. Works will be due 27 July at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time. If for any reason you need an extension, please request one.
14. We request that your fic is beta'd. That means that somebody has read over it with a somewhat critical eye, and pointed out things that should probably be changed.
15. We will post the fic for you on Archive of Our Own (AO3), to make sure everything goes smoothly. We will make sure you're on as an author as well, if you have an AO3 account, and put them all in a fest folder.
16. Once the fest ends, and all fanfiction have been posted, we will fully release the fics to you to do as you please.
17. We request that if you are going to delete it, to instead abandon it instead, or remove yourself as an author before we release it to you, so folks looking for genfic can read yours.
