Fest For All: Genfic Edition

Question of the week: a question to help you get to know one-another. These can be answered throughout the week, and will be posted to dreamwidth and discord. This does not include the introduction post.

Conversation starters: posted in the main discord chat once a week, and they are to help you get the conversation going with the rest of the participants. These may be answered in the general chat, or you may ask a person privately. Please be aware that not everyone will have this option activated, so don't worry if you can't.

Partners: Everyone will be given a partner (or you might be in a group of three) to work with throughout the fest. You may have any kind of working relationship you’d like.

Writing advice: this will be posted to both tumblr and dreamwidth (it can also be emailed to you, if you'd prefer)

Pep talk: an encouraging post, which will be posted to tumblr and dreamwidth (this can also be emailed to you)

Challenge of the week: a weekly writing challenge to really get you working hard. This does not have to used in your piece, nor does it have to be about what you're writing about. It's just a difficult writing exercise to get you thinking. This is not mandatory.

Quick check-in: Just a post asking how everyone's doing, if anyone has any questions, etc. These will be done once a week on dreamwidth and discord.

Writing gallery: a thread on dreamwidth where you can post any writing you'd like to share with other participants. It cannot be higher than T rated. You can also read other participants' writing that they want to share. This may be the writing challenge's results, or it may not be.

Genfic recs: once a week, a post will be made on tumblr and dreamwidth that has any genfic that has been submitted through this google form throughout the week. It can be any fandom, any rating, but there cannot be any romance in it.

Big check-in: we will contact you with your preferred method of communication to ask how you're doing, how much you've written, if you have any questions, etc.

Final check-in: This will be done a week before submissions are due. We will contact you through your preferred method of communication, and ask if you're done, if you need an extension, etc. We ask that if you're done, you reply with your submission.

Timeline:

May 2, 2018: sign-ups start

May 14, 2018: prompting closes

May 21, 2018: prompts posted

May 31, 2018: sign-ups end*

June 1, 2018: fest begins. First question of the week posted, conversation starters, given partner info

July 2, 2018: big check-in

July 20, 2018: final check-in

July 27, 2018: submissions due at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time

August 3, 2018: Posting begins. More information will be given once the fest has begun

*sign-ups will not end so close to the start of the fest in the future

Wednesday: pep talk, challenge of the week

Friday: quick check-in, question of the week

Saturday: writing gallery, mostly for the challenge of the week, but for any writing a participant wants to share. May be no higher than T rated.
