Pep Talk

 Okay, we’re approaching crunch time, and I dunno about you, but I’m kinda scared. Everyone who has replied to big check in that we sent out haven’t gotten very far, if at all. And that’s okay! Because emotions can fuel writing, among other things.

Feeling scared is okay. The important thing is to keep going. Recognise that you’re scared (or whatever other emotion(s) you may be feeling), and continue on.

I believe in all of you. The pressure is getting more intense, but you can handle this. Take things slow and make sure to perform self-care.

Pep Talk

We’re two weeks into the fest now, and it’s a great time to check in with your work. How are things going? Have you run into unexpected problems?


Not to worry -- you have six weeks left to solve them. So don’t stress out if the words aren’t flowing -- remember you can always check out the weekly challenges to help get things moving again. And don’t stress over your word count -- a lot can happen in six weeks.


A repeat of last week’s advice, as it’s important: make sure to eat and drink regularly, and also remember to take breaks. Sometimes a quick walk around the block, or even just a few moments stepping away from the computer can help when you’re stuck.


And remember that we believe in you. You’ve got this!
